Hello! My name is Carol O’Rourke and I am a calligraphy artist and graphic designer based in Chicago. I love to combine my design skills in Adobe Photoshop with my passion for lettering to create personalized digital artwork to celebrate everyday moments and special holidays.

I took my first calligraphy class when I was 12 years old at a tiny art studio in my hometown in Northern Illinois - and fell in love with drawing words, scrolls and florals with thick and thin lines. In college I studied Art, Advertising and English. In addition to being a graphic designer and digital artist, I paint monograms on bourbon barrel bartops and create personalized hand painted wood signs and holiday ornaments. My designs are influenced by my love of nature, typography and florals. My favorite projects come to life when I get to combine my art with calligraphy to create clean personalized designs - I even designed my wedding invitations with my own calligraphy! I love creating digital artwork and calligraphy, but I often feel the need to create with a paintbrush, paint and a rustic piece of wood.
